Great news for job seekers

JOBS are hard to find especially for young people with disabilities. So it’s great to hear that two former sixth-formers at Palmerston School, Woolton, not only found some work experience, they have also been kept on - Indefinitely! Last year Ashlea Walton and Claire Rudkin both grasped the chance of work experience at Woolton Day Nursery and Barnardos in Old Swan. They only expected three-month placements, but their bosses have been so impressed with their enthusiasm and talents they are now both part of their workfarees.

Ashlea said : “Working with the toddlers is great fun:’ Claire added: “I love my job, too!”

The initial placements were arranged with Liverpool Compact EBP, an organisation that works with schools and over 6,000 employers to develop the career aspirations and employability skills of young people.
