Employability Interviews
In today's tough labour market school leavers need good presentation and communication skills to help them get a job or a place in Further Education.
We can arrange for local employers to come into your school and hold ‘Employability Interviews’ with your students. This will prepare them for a successful real life interview, help develop their skills and give them a clear understanding of the recruitment process.
How do they work?
We will agree convenient dates with you. We then invite a number of employers to conduct Employability Interviews at your school.
Prior to the interviews we can provide:
- A Preparation Session for completion of Application Forms
- A Preparation Session to cover Interview Techniques
- An online or paper based Application Form. One is available on this page by clicking on the ‘On line Application Form’ button.

Employers then come to school and will hold a 20 minute interview with each student. The interview is usually based around the contents of the application form.
After the interview the employer will offer feedback on the student's performance. Each student will receive a Feedback Report to give them an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses in the areas of communication, attitude and academic achievements etc.
Benefits to young people

- Develops an understanding of the recruitment process
- Improves self-presentation and communication skills
"I feel that this is one of the best experiences a student could have whilst in education. Students get to realise that employers are not just looking for good examination results..."
